About

Sharon Wymark

I am a London based artist and went to Epsom College of Art and Design some years ago. I subsequently trained as a professional actor and pursued a career in this industry.

Art has always been part of me and initially I worked on a series of large charcoal portraits, before moving into colour and then on to abstraction. Over the last few years, I have worked more intensively on making art and experimenting with different ways of working.

I am very much a colourist. My work is a visual spectrum of colour and the exploration and impact of setting different colour palettes alongside each other. I like to explore shape and texture and sometimes work with collage. My work is a meditative process, constantly evolving, often not knowing what the final result will be.

I am influenced by the vivid and expressive art of Latin America, indigenous and naïve art, pop art, textile design, print making and the chromatic energy that ensues. I have had solo exhibitions in London and also exhibited as part of Urban Art Brixton, Dulwich Open and Bow Art Open studios.
